what scout keeps
- your email and your password, hashed, so not even scout can read it
- your answers to the sign-up questions
- the postings you save or pass, and your tracker
- which postings already pinged your phone, so none pings twice
- prep kits your Claude Code sends to review (resume, letter, answers), until you remove them or delete your account
- the hackathons and certifications you mark, and their resume lines
- if you connect Claude Code, a fingerprint of its key (not the key itself)
what it never keeps
- your resume file. prep happens in your own Claude Code (or Claude), on your own computer; only a kit you choose to send comes here.
- passwords to job sites. scout never logs in anywhere, never applies, and never makes anything up about you.
where it lives
in a Cloudflare database, behind your login. GPA, if you give it, is never shown back to anyone. one cookie keeps you logged in; there are no ads and no tracking.
phone alerts
alerts go through ntfy, a free public notification service, to a long random topic made just for you. anyone who knew that topic could read your pings, so keep it to yourself.
your call, anytime
download everything scout has on you, or delete your account and all of it, from the you page.
postings
listings come from public internship lists and company career pages. scout links to the real posting; you always apply on the company's own site.
